Belfast is the largest city of Northern Ireland. Most of Belfast is in County Antrim, but other parts of East and South Belfast are in County Down. It lies on the flood plain of the River Lagan.
It is famous for shipbuilding and the cities main shipbuilers where Harland & Wolff as we know they built the well knows RMS Titanic this put Belfast on the global stage in the early 20th century as they biggest most productive shipyyard in the world. Belfast played a key role in the Industrial Revolution. Belfast was the biggest city in Ireland at the beginning of the 20th century.
